In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 (NKJV)
God's Word is not just what He says. God's Word is God. When He speaks, He does not detach Himself from His words. His Word carries His person, His presence, His power, and His very life.
Many believers see God's Word the way we see human speech. Something spoken, then left behind. But that is not how it works with the Creator. When God speaks, He is expressing Himself.
Think about that. How do you get to know someone's heart? Through their words. Words reveal who a person really is. In the same way, God reveals Himself through His Word. His Word does not just carry information. It carries His life. The life of God flows through every line of Scripture.
This means that whenever you welcome the Word into your heart, you are not simply learning. You are encountering Him. You are fellowshipping with the very source of life.
This is why God's Word has the power to create, heal, transform, and set free. It carries the same life that spoke the universe into existence. No wonder Jesus is called the Word became flesh (John 1:14). He did not just speak God's Word. He is the Word. He said, I and My Father are one (John 10:30). And the Scriptures confirm it: All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made (John 1:3).
Notice something. The Word is described as He, not it. Because the Word is a person. Christ Himself.
So every time you hear, study, meditate on, or receive the Word of God, you are not just absorbing lessons or doctrine. You are receiving God. And to honor the Word is to honor Him.
Let this truth settle in your spirit today. When you hold on to the Word, you are holding on to God Himself.
Praise God.
